Mary Tappert

Hi! I am Mary Tappert. My financial journey started in kindergarten. Every day on the way home from school, my mom drove us past Baskin and Robbins, and every day I asked for ice cream. Most days, the answer was, "Sorry honey, no money".  I am sure this was said in an effort to curtail a 6 year old from asking for ice cream every single day, but instead it ignighted an entreprenial flame within me.

As I got older and began managing my own finances, I fell in love with planning and budgeting. Throughout my 20s, I became known for my ability to accurately split up the tab amongst friends that were carefully spending their hard-earned money on a Saturday night out.

The reason  I tell you these stories  about myself is they illustrate the important connection between money and our perception of it. Could the belief that you will never be able to make a enough money (for ice cream or other things) be holding you back from your true earning potential? Is going out to dinner with a good friends a priority in your life? Then lets figure out how to make it fit in your budget. Your wealth is about so much more than money, it's about your relationship to it as well.

A few more things you should know about me:

  • I'm a Virgo and Manifestor. This means that I’m great at making a list and getting things done to my high standards. I love to get things started and have an impact on the world around me.

  • I started my career working Financial Planning where one of the best lessons I learned from my clients is that is doesn't matter how much money you make, it matters what you do with that money.

  • I spent 10 years working in Corporate Compensation covering all things base pay, bonus, and equity. I loved being able to impact the financial lives of so many people.

  • I live in Seattle, WA with my husband and 7 year old daughter. I love to work on house projects, travel, and move my body (hot girl walks, pilates, and lifting heavy). I recently started taking a pottery class.
